Jharkhand's Barkha Kumari migrated to Punjab like many do from her Adivasi community, to earn a living. Her earnings were her landless parents' only financial support. While Barkha felt isolated in an unfamiliar state, she saved enough to script a success story for herself and pull out her family from poverty. Her story was documented by the Policy and Development Advisory Group that led the Jharkhand Migration Survey.
