We are the founders of The Migration Story, a newsroom launched in January 2024 to tell unique stories about India’s vast migrant workforce — of the men and women around us, who build our cities, deliver our food, stitch our clothes, cook our meals, clean our homes, and sell us delicious street food.
We are committed to bring you text stories, videos, graphics, and podcasts that spotlight a workforce that’s all around us, yet invisible. Telling these stories is important, but they need resources, equipment and travel budgets. Putting content behind a paywall would defeat our purpose to mainstream migrant voices.

What does The Migration Story subscription offer?
As a TMS member, you get a ringside view of our newsroom – from conversations with our journalists, designers, and photographers on their process to behind-the-scenes glimpses of what it takes to report, edit and produce a story on our website.
You will also get a chance to attend our annual conclave and contribute on our website.
How can I subscribe?

Do you accept subscription fee in cash or cheque?
No, we do not accept subscription in cash or cheque.
Do I need to renew periodically?
Can I cancel my subscription?
Membership payments are non-refundable. If you wish to cancel your membership, you can do that by sending a request to subscription@themigrationstory.com, and we will cancel your membership. However, no payment related to membership will be refunded.
